"1:1" is a ratio, borrowed from architecture; direct, balanced, human. It's how we design: one to one with context, material, whatever the site is actually asking for. Every project starts the same way, with a lot of looking before any drawing happens.

" I started Studio 1:1 on a fairly simple belief — that spaces should feel human. Not impressive. Human. The kind of place that holds a feeling quietly, and becomes part of how you remember a period of your life.

Design, for us, isn't about the big gesture. Most of what actually changes how a room feels is small -a proportion, a material, how the light lands at 4pm instead of noon. We've kept the studio small on purpose. It's the only way I know how to stay close to the work and to the people we're building it for.

If a space we've made gives someone a bit more calm, or makes their everyday a little less chaotic, that's the whole point. That's it, really. "
